Submit New Phrases

It’s really hard to come up with a ton of new phrases and implement them, and with this form I hope to speed up this process. Please submit phrases that follow the description given here, it’ll save me a lot of time and you will be far more likely to get a submission in.

Phrase Types

  • Present Tense Actions: Used for the “Note to Self” Prompts.

    • ex: Note to self: Don't laugh at Candace Cameron's.

      • Laugh is the Action, as in “You laugh” or “I laugh.”

    • wrong example: Note to self: Don't disobeying the law at Candace Cameron's.

      • This is obviously wrong as it is grammatically incorrect.

  • Countable Events: These are used for most other prompts along with uncountable events, and are distinguishable by the fact that they use the articles a or an.

    • ex: This is like a luau at Richard Petty's gallery!

      • The luau is the event taking place, and notice that although saying “This is like 4 luaus at Richard Petty’s Gallery!” doesn’t really make sense it still is a countable event because it requires an article to work as a phrase.

    • wrong example: This is like a breaking my ankles at Richard Petty’s gallery.

      • Although it is an event that can happen multiple times (trust me, I know), breaking my ankles doesn’t make sense in this context when an article is used.

  • Uncountable Events: These are for events that don’t make sense to have an article before them. This includes most holidays and present tense verbs.

    • ex: This is like getting stuck in the washing machine at Henry Kissinger’s house!

      • Getting stuck in the washing machine is the event taking place, and from the language of English’s perspective you cannot get stuck in the washing machine at Henry Kissinger’s house more than once, which may not be true for some.

    • wrong example: This is like potluck at Henry Kissinger’s house!

      • Now on the other hand, the potluck at Henry Kissinger’s house is a daily event so it does not go in this category (it needs to go into the countable events category instead.)

  • Places: The place where the stuff happens.

    • ex: This is like Valentine's Day at Roger Mudd's dungeon!

      • Do I even need to explain what a place is? Just don’t put anything too specific or too stupid or else I might think it’s funny and put it in just to end up accidentally doxxing someone

  • Celebrities: The people that do the things

    • ex: Reminds me of evaporating at L. Ron Hubbard's.

      • Ah so he was off by 8 years. Yeah same rule for this category as the Places category, I’d rather not dox people thanks. You can put funny Sans in though that’s fine (Don’t submit Sans I already have him).
